The spice smells of cloves, nutmeg and cinnamon. It is widely used in European cooking as an ingredient for sweet recipes, pickling, and to flavor stews and sauces.
It is particularly good in pumpkin pie, banana bread and cookies. It is the main flavor in barbeque sauce.
