Zamouri Spices commissioned a local Moroccan artist to design this exquisite hand-made traditonal terracotta couscous pot. It holds twelve quarts (8 quarts in the pot and 4 quarts in the steamer).
It is certified Lead-free, heavy duty terracotta. They are double fired at 1700 degrees Farenheit for extra durability. However, we recommend gentle use and hand-washing. DO NOT USE OVER HIGH FLAME or without a heat diffuser on a gas stove.
Couscoussier, also known as Couscous pot, is a traditional steaming vessel used in the preparation of the national dish - Couscous.
Couscous is placed at the top steamer pot and the steam from the stew being cooked at the bottom pot rises through and cooks the couscous. Stews can be lamb, beef, chicken, and/or vegetables. Visit our recipe section for some delicious ideas.
