Ingredients:
1/4 tsp Turmeric
2 Tbsp Lime Juice
pinch of salt
4 Cod Fillets; skinned and cut into 2 inch chuncks
1 onion, chopped
1 fresh green chili, sliced
1 garlic clove, crushed
1/4 cup cashew nuts
1/2 tsp fennel seeds
2 Tbsp dried, shredded coconut
2 Tbsp oil
1/4 tsp cumin seeds
1 tsp Fish Masala
1/4 tsp salt
2/3 cup water
3/4 cup plain yogurt
3 Tbsp cilantro; finely chopped
Preparation:
Mix turmeric, lime juice and salt. Rub over the fish. Cover and marinate for 15 minutes.
Meanwhile, grind the onion, chillie, cashew nuts, fennel seeds and coconut into a paste. Spoon the paste into a bowl and set aside.
Hea the oil in a large heavy pan and fry the cumin seeds for 2 minutes or until they begin to sputter. Add the paste and fry for 5 minutes, the stir in the Fish Masala, salt and water. Cook for about 2 - 3 minutes.
Stir in the yogurt and chopped coriander. Simmer for 5 minutes. Add the fish pieces and stir. Cover and cook for 10 minutes until the fish is tender.
Serve with rice.
