Nutmeg

Nutmeg has been appreciated as a spice since Roman times. It has a very sweet, warm flavor and aroma.

Nutmeg is delicious with fillings for pasta, and in tomato, fish, and cheese sauces. It is a traditional ingredient in cakes, gingerbreads, biscuits and puddings.

Nutmeg is a narcotic, but that is not a problem in the quantites used to consume it in most recipes. Traditional healers use it as an astringent, stimulent and aphrodisiac.
