Zamouri Spices was founded in 2003 by Majid and Mary Elbertai. For generations, Majid's family has been spice merchants in Morocco. Taking this rich, vast history and knowledge of spices, Majid founded Zamouri Spices using traditional spice blend recipes from North Africa and around the world. Rather than make large commercial batches, we still believe in small, hand-made gourmet batches. This allows you to receive spices that are still full of life. Each bottle is filled and labeled by hand. It may not be as cost effective, but we think you will appreciate the personal touch we provide. We aren't just selling spices and seasonings, we are sharing the true Moroccan experience of this vast and varied region.

We are especially proud of our Ras el Hanout with its 35 different florals, herbs and spices. The flavor and aroma signify that you are experiencing the same tradition and authenticity you would in an outdoor market of Morocco.

Our preserved lemons are fermented the traditional way for just the right amount of time for peak, yet soft and subtle flavor. Preserved Lemons are a must-have for many Moroccan tagine recipes as well as a lovely addition to your daily salad.

Harissa Paste is a fiery condiment that is an essential for pairing with tagines and couscous. Each year, at the peak of chili season, we fly them fresh directly from the farms of New Mexico directly to our commercial kitchen for processing into the Harissa you've come to know and love.
