Description

Ras el Hanout (also called Raz el Hanout) is often referred to as the National Spice of Morocco. It literally means Head of the Shop or Best of the Best. This seasoning is typically a Moroccan spice merchant's most prized spice blend. It is the secret ingredient at the heart of an authentic tagine.

Zamouri Spices blends small gourmet batches of our Ras el Hanout using a traditional centuries-old recipe to ensure our customers receive the freshest, most aromatic experience. Our family recipe has been passed down through the generations and is unique to the remote Zamour region of Morocco.

There is no one recipe for this lovely pungent spice mix. Our Ras el Hanout spice mix is packed with the aromas of over 35 different herbs and spices including cinnamon, cloves, and ginger as well as ethnic rarities such as ajwan seeds, galangal root, and kala jeera, It has the delicate, perfumed notes of lavender and rose buds. Infuse romance in your cooking with Ras el Hanout.

everything arrived super-speedy and complete. Haven't tried the kebab or merguez spices yet but am planning a big dinner this weekend. Ras al Hanout is my favorite. So incredibly fragrant and delicious. It makes my dishes SING!! In Berber!

Just getting into Moroccan cooking June 9, 2018
Reviewer: Mike Bowen from LILLINGTON, NC United States
Got my first tagine the other day and I'm in the process of treating and curing it before cooking in it.  The ras el hanout was a treasured addition to my kitchen.  Intend to use it in my very first tagine - chicken and apricot hopefully.  Wish me luck.

Sprinkled the spice blend over a vegetarian meal I recently prepared and I enjoyed the flavor very much. Added just the right amount of spice, not overpowering!

The aroma of heaven March 25, 2018

I love the smell of this spice.  I used it in my Presserved lemon and olive chicken tagine.  It was great.  You must buy the preserved lemons for your Moroccan tagines, too.  When you mix Ras el hanout with preserved lemons, the flavor is unbeatable.   Next time I will use the La Kama spice, but this was the spice that I purchased.
