Lebanese Seven Spice Kafta

Warm, savory and deeply aromatic, Lebanese kafta is one of the best ways to showcase Seven Spice Lebanese Style. Ground beef or lamb is mixed with fresh parsley and onion, seasoned generously with Seven Spice, then grilled or roasted until browned and juicy.
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef, ground lamb, or a combination
- 1 small onion, very finely chopped or grated
- ½ cup finely chopped fresh parsley
- 2 tsp Zamouri Spices Seven Spice Lebanese Style
- ¾ tsp salt
- ¼ tsp Zamouri Spices Aleppo Pepper, optional
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- Tomato wedges and sliced onion for roasting
- Fresh parsley, warm pita and tahini for serving
Directions
- Combine the meat, onion, parsley, Seven Spice, salt and Aleppo Pepper. Mix gently until evenly combined.
- Form into 8 oblong kafta, either around skewers or free-form.
- Brush lightly with olive oil.

Grill: Cook over medium-high heat for about 3–4 minutes per side, until browned and cooked through.
Oven: Arrange with tomato and onion on a baking sheet and roast at 425°F for about 15–20 minutes, turning once. - Serve hot with warm pita, roasted tomatoes and onions, fresh parsley and tahini.
Chef's tip: Seven Spice is the star here. Taste the blend before adding extra seasonings—the allspice, cinnamon, black pepper, coriander, clove and ginger already provide layers of warmth and complexity.
